Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Calhoun County Property Appraiser to fairly and equitably discover, list, and value all real and tangible personal property for the purpose of creating the annual ad valorem tax roll in accordance with applicable Florida Statutes. Unlike many states where the Property Appraiser and Taxing Authorities work together, Florida’s Constitution provides a clear separation between the appraisal of property and the Authorities  responsible for setting a Millage Rate to raise revenue.

The Property Appraiser’s office works in cooperation with the  Florida Department of Revenue, and the Appraiser is elected every four years by the citizens of Calhoun County.  Please feel free to contact the Property Appraiser’s office if we may help in any way.
